Seven Mile Beach

Nature

The most popular beach on the island. Soft sand and warm, clear water of the most stunning blue. Most of the resorts are located along this beach but there should be enough space for everyone to spend a relaxing day.

LOCATION:  West side of the island

Grand Old House

Restaurant

A treasure of the island, the former Petra Plantation was established in 1908. The large waterfront terrace provides beautiful views or dine inside the colonial dining room. Live music, a cuban cigar collection, and an award-winning wine list add to the experience. You may even be able to watch cigars being made fresh on the terrace.

TRAVEL TIPS

  • Spott’s Beach is the place to go to snorkel with sea turtles, which like to feed along the ocean floor just beyond the pier
  • Taxis are an easy and safe way to go short distances but are pricey, so if you’re wanting to explore the island you may need to rent a car as buses don’t reach every destination and there are no ride-sharing companies like Uber
  • Car rental companies are located in some of the larger hotels and are a quick and convenient option, even for non-guests
  •  Casanova is another good choice for waterfront dining and high-quality seafood and Italian dishes (their cannoli is excellent)
